VisionAire Jets is a developing company with the goal of designing, building, and certifying a new single-engine business jet, based in Hickory, NC. We have a prototype that has already flown 500 hours. We are now in the Design Refinement (Preliminary Design) Phase of our project.

The engineers in these positions will report to a Chief Engineer. We are seeking employees of the best caliber, training, experience, and work ethics, which show potential for becoming lead engineers over other engineers for the Detail Design Phase - the next phase of the project. Early in our project we will focus on building tooling and parts, for the horizontal stabilizer. Structures and composite engineers will interface and lead the manufacturing and quality personnel in building composite tools, composite parts, assemble composites, and structurally testing composites.
Engineering Skills Needed:
- BS or higher in Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical Engineering, Industrial and Manufacturing/Operations/Systems.
- Fluent in a 3D CAD program, MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint.
- For structures, prefer some Finite Element Analysis experience, composite materials analysis and processing experience.
- Prefer expressed interest in aviation through hands-on practice.
- Prefer involvement in concept-to-practice projects including AIAA, SAE, and other competitions which involve testing real hardware.
- Prefer shop experience including mill, lathe, welding, and assembly.

VisionAire Jets has a competitive pay and benefits schedule with the opportunity to live in the family-friendly city of Hickory, NC. Our headquarters and manufacturing facilities are located between Asheville, Greensboro and Charlotte, in NC. The Appalachian Mountain Range is located within 35 miles from us and offers year-round activities, including skiing and other winter sports. We have local access to several recreational lakes. Beaches and coastal areas in North and South Carolina are only four to five hours drive away.
